If you're a friend of mine or have been following 102 Apparel for a while you may remember back in 2022 I challenged myself to create a new item of tie dye every day for the month of March - and I called it 31 Days of Tie Dye.
It does what it says on the tin, but to summarise I made a new tie dye design on t shirts, sweatshirts and sweatpants every day for a whole month. I filmed little videos of the process for TikTok and Instagram, and uploaded almost all of the designs to my Etsy shop - some of which are bestsellers and still available to buy! A few of course didn't make the cut because, well they were ugly, but this little challenge encouraged me to try out designs I had on my ideas list, or to experiment with new techniques and colours.
So this year I've decided to do it again for February.
I could keep the 31 Days of Tie Dye name going, however, I'm aware that my shop's orders tend to pick up in March, so I don't want to commit to this challenge and then find that customer orders are using up all the time I have and then not be able to finish it at all, so February it is!
I've got a long list of ideas I've been wanting to try for some time, so this is the perfect opportunity to fast track ticking off the list. I'll be filming short videos of the process for each one for my Instagram (not TikTok this time though, I banned myself a few weeks ago because I became addicted to it), and will hopefully be able to edit and upload everything on a daily basis. I'd love to hear design ideas if you have them, so let me know and maybe I'll make it for the challenge, or at least add it to my list for the future.
